Happy mail

December was a happy mail month, all the christmas cards that arrived!
Did you survive all the parties, eating and good wishes?
Now we're january again (almost finished btw! Help!! Where did that first month go to??) and we're back to normal letter writing. My fingers have been itching to write letters for weeks now, i even searched for some new pen pals! So many stationary that's waiting to be used in my desk..

Happy mail

My poor blog has been neglected a lot lately, april is such a busy month so far.
The Easter holiday was very busy at work, my mom was in hospital 2 times (the second time unexpected, there were complications after her surgery so she needed another surgery.. she's geting better now!) and i didn't feel good myself. Suffered a week from this bad headache which made me feel sick and moody..

Luckily there's the postman who puts a smile on my face from time to time!
Here are two happy snailmail surprises, the first from Ruchama and the other one from dear Barbara!

Ruchama doesn't have a blog, i think i mentioned that before, but she did start a blog about snailmail with some of her penpals! It's written in dutch but maybe the others can look at the pictures? You can find the 'Postfabriek' here! i admire Ruchama's envelope-making-skills! She always manages to make beautiful envelopes with gorgeous illustrations, receiving mail from her is an honor!

 

Barbara is enjoying a holiday in Thailand right now, i had to laugh when i heard she planned a trip there! Her Thailand-time is almost finished and then it's my turn :)

She spoiled me with some beautiful postcards, washi tape & other happy surprises! Thank you lots!

 

 

 

Vintage girls

Part 1 of my holidays are finished, i started working again on monday. I miss our lazy days and doing all the things we felt like... but in some weeks part 2 starts so we've got something to look forward to!

We're going to my beloved France again, can't wait!!

I've received some nice postcards in my mailbox recently and as a collector of postcards, they always bring a big smile on my face when i find them in my mailbox :)

I'll show them soon, which reminds me i still have to show some pics of the perfect tin box i won with Lisa's giveaway!! It was filled with little treasures, which i loved ♥

Still have to answer letters... Barbara, Claudia, Heidi, Lisa, Chantal, Mina... you're on my 'write back to'-list :-)

And then these super cute vintage girl heads!! Aren't they adorable?

I got them as a birthday gift from a friend! I love them. And now i have to find a good spot to hang them on the wall.. maybe next to the entrance door?

This week has been so busy at work! Holidays are often very stressful where i work, and i always have to adjust to working lots more. (normally i work parttime but during holidays it's a fulltime job)

Not much time to browse blogs or spent time on the computer these days...

But i wanted to share some more happy mail i received lately,

first one came from Claudia, and i loved it! What a pretty stitched enveloppe!

And that picture of her painted flower pots, so nice :)

The other one came from Chantal, and she included one of her selfmade stamps. I really like the tree, we both like trees & owls! My first letter to Chantal dissapeared in the mail-world so i'm hoping my second attempt will arrive at her doorstep! Thumbs up..

And the third picture is my letter to Heidi... the girl without blog!

More happy mail! This blog seems to be a lot about mail lately but i'm enjoying the whole snail mail thing and that's what this blog is about afterall... the things i love!

So you can expect more blogposts with snail mail updates :)

Here's another one that made me truly happy, Barbara sent me some colorful dot-stickers, some fabric i really like, a postcard, seeds & woodens signs!

The seeds are already showing their little green heads outside, can't wait to see them grow bigger!

France

Finally some pics of our time in France! I've got so many i could show pics for weeks but here's a small selection.... The beautiful cat is one of the many cats that were hanging around our holidayhouse. I always feel more at home when there are cats around, cause i miss mine while i'm away! So we buy food in the shop to feed them and pretend they are ours :)

I'm behind in showing my mail here & also a bit in answering.. but i'm writing you all back, promise!! And Heidi, your letter arrived today! Thank you so much, enjoyed it!!

Anyone of you that has been in Madrid? Tips for places we should see for sure? Or secondhand shops, or fleamarkets, or nice places to eat/drink?

Snail mail!

Receiving mail from Lisa is always fun! We seem to have a lot in common, collect the same stuff and love to write :) When i got back from France a letter of her was waiting for me. My mom, who takes care of our cats while we're away, wondered from who those pretty enveloppes were... (she also empties our mailbox!)

Lisa spoiled me with some paper goodies, a pencil, a marker and a lovely pen! Can't have enough pens and pencils!

See the picture of the fern she included? That's one of my favourite plants in our garden!!

And Lisa wrote her letter on green paper cause that's my number 1 color :)

Dankjewel lieve Lisa, er komt spoedig weer iets jouw richting uit!!

Snail mail!

Time for some more snail mail news! The last weeks my mailbox has been spoiled with beautiful enveloppes filled with little treasures!

A funny fact by the way! Every single one of them  contained little round stickers :) Which is great cause i love those ♥

First one is from Lies, the cute cat on the outside made me smile and my smile only came bigger when i saw what was inside! The stickers, paper goodies and not to forget the vintage children books are a  win! Thank you so much Lies!

I was very lucky to receive this enveloppe btw, cause it arrived at another house in my village! (while my address was all good!) The people where it arrived know my parents and recognized my name, so they contacted my dad to let them know about it.. luckily! Thank you honest people :)

Something else.. my poppy in the garden is blooming so pretty!!! Love the big flower, i'll show it soon!

Lovely mail

The other week i found some more pretty mail in my mailbox.

Flaurette loves to write letters and her enveloppes look like a piece of art with that pretty writing!

I'm a fool for all paper-things so Flaurette made me happy, and the doll is such a cutie :)

Some weeks ago, Lies & i decided to do a mail swap.

I like her blog, her cute drawings and she's also into old books & flea markets..

A nice lady was smiling to me on the enveloppe and the inside made me smile even more!

A little yellow bag, decorated with an illustration from an old book, same for the nice notebook! And the postcard is a fav! Handdrawn & a perfect match with my collection wooden dolls!
