The cabinet

My cabinet, also known as my happy corner in the house, is filled with vintage treasures. Actually, they're treasures to me, some might only see them as old silly toys..

My bf calls it an organised mess :)

Guess you can say it's a bit of a mess in the cabinet and i really should re-organise everything and maybe leave some of the things out of it, but help!! I'm so bad at throwing things away.

I think i'll keep the organised mess for a bit longer!

 

 

Fleamarket finds

I'm so happy the outside fleamarket season is here again, lots more good bargains to find and outside is just  more fun than the dusty often smelly inside locations..
These are some finds of last sunday, i'm so happy with the Pinokkio! Maybe you can't really tell from the picture but he's quite big, and i just love his long nose!
All the wooden puzzles pieces are ready to turn into magnets and ofcourse i had to buy these postcards :)


The book was a present from friends, it's full with nice DIY-ideas. 'Fabriek Romantiek' was originally a tv program i liked to watch.

Can you believe it's almost summer? I for one can't! It's almost my birthday again and i wonder where those last 12 months have gone to?? And on top of that it looks like autumn outside....

Thrifted treasures

Some months ago my friend and me had a saturday full of thrifting planned! In the morning we went to garage sales spread over a nearby village (we loved those garage sales!!), had lunch while we were driving cause there was no time to loose :) , and in the afternoon we visited some thriftstores and also a lady who sells all kind of old stuff in the barns behind her house. And those barns were filled up to the roof!! We went kind of crazy there...

Here are some treasures i found that day, oh and those wonderful tins? The lady of the barns gave them for free!! She obviously didn't know what they are worth :)

 

Have a good weekend all of you! Here it's kind of a lonely one.. bf is away with the guys for a weekend of gaming (playstation)! But the lonely ladies of the guys are going to cheer eachother up this evening, so yay!!

 

 

 

 

Home of the wooden people

When my friend and i are going to the thriftstore or fleamarkets, we're always searching for wooden people. (Old ones ofcourse :) ) They've become hard to find around here, or maybe we bought them all by now?? It's quite a happy moment when we do spot one!

I've got this bright green Ikea-cabinet where i put my best old finds in and i like seeing all the funny wooden figures in there, they always make me happy! And most of them do have a smiling face, maybe that's why they bring happiness?

Do you guys have a special collection that makes you happy?

Vintage girls

Part 1 of my holidays are finished, i started working again on monday. I miss our lazy days and doing all the things we felt like... but in some weeks part 2 starts so we've got something to look forward to!

We're going to my beloved France again, can't wait!!

I've received some nice postcards in my mailbox recently and as a collector of postcards, they always bring a big smile on my face when i find them in my mailbox :)

I'll show them soon, which reminds me i still have to show some pics of the perfect tin box i won with Lisa's giveaway!! It was filled with little treasures, which i loved ♥

Still have to answer letters... Barbara, Claudia, Heidi, Lisa, Chantal, Mina... you're on my 'write back to'-list :-)

And then these super cute vintage girl heads!! Aren't they adorable?

I got them as a birthday gift from a friend! I love them. And now i have to find a good spot to hang them on the wall.. maybe next to the entrance door?

Vide grenier finds from France

Here are the treasures i found in France at the vide greniers. All for nice small prices, even the very old set with tarot cards from B.P. Grimaud! I looked it up and it's from 1890! We bought it for 50 cents, good catch!

From the thriftstore

My finds from a visit to the thriftstore last week .. it was quite a good catch! Some wooden dolls, 3 nice quartets, postcards, invitations, pencils and this beautiful vase with polkadots!
A perfect hunt at the thriftstore for me!

Retro time!

I promised to show you my retro-day finds... here they are. I went to one of the local thriftstores, not so busy as the big retro-fair in Ghent but still, enough people to grab the nice stuff away in front of your eyes! Luckily there was lots this time and i managed to find these things.

A pile of pretty old cards, with animals, flowers, fishes,... I love these kind of old cards! A really cool english tray! It's a Worchester one, my third!

This old punch machine (is that the right word??), makes me think of 'Mad Men'! And old books to note what people order to drink in pubs.

These stamps! Love them... Some of the stamps i will keep as they are, but others can be used for newly made stamps. I like all the different wooden handles.

There was more, but that's top secret 'till christmas! The person who will get it is reading this blog too so...
